HOW TO REFILL?

All of Zao products are refillable and available on the site. Again these are not 100% plastic-free due to the regulations in the beauty industry but Zao have made sure that their packaging is recyclable. You can see all of the packaging on the refills before you buy so any questions please let us know.

To refill the mascara you simply remove the centre that holds the mascara and replace with your refill – you will get instructions with your refill!

You can send back your empty refills to us so we can make sure they get properly recycled.

MY FAVOURITE INGREDIENTS

• Acacia gum or Arabic gum – derived from the acacia senegal tree, is used as a bonding agent which improves the mascara and eyeliner’s hold. Its wealth of polysaccharides and glycoproteins also makes it a real tightening and lifting cosmetic asset. In addition, acacia has softening, soothing and healing qualities for fragile mucous membranes, which helps prevent irritation when applying mascara.
• Micronised silver powder:
  These micro-particles of pure silver are antiseptic (especially on skin and mucous membranes) and antibacterial as well, thereby preserving the product and protecting the skin. Micro silver is often used in creams to treat burns. Almost all products in the ZAO range (except the two lip balms) contain micro-particles of pure silver (a natural preservative).

BEAUTY TIP:

• Work the upper lashes first, holding the brush horizontally closer to the root and then go up by making a zigzag while looking down.
• Apply more on the outside to enlarge the eye and on the center for a more open look.
• If the brush is overloaded, gently remove the excess with a tissue and not at the edge of the tube.
